Avi Kamelhar

Mr Kamelhar has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare management field, with a demonstrated track record in business development, contract negotiation, financial analysis and forecasting He has proven expertise in driving efficiency, growth and productivity through evaluation of financial management systems and implementation of process improvements.

He began my career as an administrative director in managing and expanding the outpatient network development activities for Staten Island University Hospital. After obtaining his Master’s degree in Health Finance from NYU, he established the Eastchester Center for Cancer Care, a multispecialty physician group serving the greater NY area. It was here where he gained my knowledge and interest in translating promising therapeutics from late preclinical studies to early Phase I/II clinical studies. He started the center with 2 Physician and grew the practice to 11 Physicians with 70 employees with gross revenues in excess of 15 million annually.

In 2015, he founded Axella Research, a clinical research and development company to further capitalize on the infrastructure and research expertise of the network and recruit a team of experts in the research and development arena. This opened up new opportunities to collaborate with early-stage pharmaceutical companies and researchers to help develop and commercialize innovative technologies.
